Appeals Information

The trust board will set and publish a timetable for organising and hearing appeals which: 

• Gives appellants at least 20 school days from the date of the refusal letter to prepare and lodge a written appeal. 

• Ensures that appellants receive at least 10 school days' notice of the appeal hearing date.

• Sets reasonable deadlines for the submission of additional evidence and for papers to be sent to all parties. 

• Aims to send decision letters within 5 school days of the hearing, where possible. 

Appeals lodged on time will be heard within the following timescales: 

• For applications made in the normal admissions round, within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals. 

• For late applications, within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within  30 school days of the appeal being lodged. 

• For in-year admissions, within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.
